Shape the futures of First Nation families as a Family Wellness Mentor. This role is dedicated to enhancing access to resources and supports within the Manitoba Child and Family Services system.
The Family Wellness Mentor, supervised by the Director of Children and Families, engages directly with First Nation parents. Key responsibilities include conducting intake processes, establishing rapport with clients, and facilitating wellness checks to support family reunification. You will work collaboratively with various service streams and ensure clients navigate the challenges of the Child and Family Services system effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend weekly case conferences for client file reviews
• Engage clients in developing their Brave Path
• Assist parents in creating personal support systems
• Connect families with community resources as needed
• Facilitate FNFAO workshops and maintain records
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary certificate or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with Child and Family Services regulations
• Experience working with First Nation families
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Help First Nation parents find stability and build their families through skilled mentorship.
