Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Coordinator of Bylaw Field Operations, the Bylaw Support Worker is an entry‑level position in the Licensing and Bylaw Enforcement Division. The role involves conducting property inspections and providing support to Bylaw Enforcement Officers. The work requires a high degree of accountability, legal due diligence, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities- Respond to complaints related to littering, garbage, vegetation and other issues to determine compliance with the Neighbourhood Liveability By‑Law.
- Document observations and evidence, and issue notices when required.
- Clarify and discuss notices with property owners when required.
- Follow up to verify compliance of issued orders and re‑inspect when required.
- Attend relevant training and orientation sessions as designated by the Department.
- High school graduation or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Demonstrated interest in public compliance, education and awareness programs.
- Positive, energetic, and constructive team member.
- Ability to work independently.
- Effective communication in English, orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of vegetation types, landscape experience or agricultural background is an asset.
- Experience in a customer service environment.
- Foreign education must be comparable to Canadian minimum qualification with official assessment report.
- Maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check at applicant’s expense.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License and a vehicle available for work.
- Must qualify for Special Constable status while employed.
- Physically capable of walking/standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Willing to wear and care for uniform and safety equipment.
- Ready to start work and attend training on July 13, 2026.
