Take on a rewarding role as a Family Wellness Mentor supporting First Nation parents in Manitoba. Work towards increasing family visitation and reunification through effective program access.
Under the supervision of the Director of Children and Families, this position provides hands-on support to First Nation parents navigating the Child and Family Services system. You will assist parents in identifying goals, developing supportive resources, and conducting regular wellness checks. Maintaining a strong relationship with clients and collaborating with external agencies are essential aspects of this role to accomplish effective family reunification.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and assign client files during weekly meetings
• Complete intakes and engage in the development of personalized paths
• Inform clients about their Terms of Service
• Conduct consistent wellness checks for client support
• Connect families with necessary community resources
Requirements:
• Certificate from a recognized educational institution
• Familiarity with the Child and Family Services system
• Insight into First Nation social issues and laws
• Strong written and spoken communication skills
• Current driver’s license and reliable vehicle
