Position: Cultural Support Worker for Youth in Care
Shawenim Abinoojii is seeking a compassionate Cultural Support Worker to assist families and youth in Winnipeg and surrounding communities. This role is dedicated to promoting First Nations connections while providing essential emotional and practical guidance.

As a Sacred Care Support Worker, you will apply a trauma-informed approach to foster positive relationships with youth facing complex challenges. Your responsibilities will include mentoring individuals, advocating for their needs, and collaborating with community wellness resources.

Your role will empower families to achieve their goals through emotional support and practical advice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide and mentor families through emotional challenges

• Offer nurturing care to youth with emotional needs

• Collaborate with community mental health resources

• Advocate for access to necessary family resources

• Document support interventions accurately

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education with relevant experience

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

• Knowledge of trauma and family dynamics

• Empathy and patience in challenging situations

• Ability to speak Anishinaabe is an asset
