Duties
Working as a member of the Placement Resources Unit team, a Licensing Specialist ensures that children and youth experience safe environments and high quality services during their child care facility placement. The Licensing Specialist supports child care facilities by monitoring performance, increasing accountability, and promoting effective system practices to meet the needs of children and youth living in child care facilities.

The Licensing Specialist works collaboratively with community organizations and CFS agencies to identify challenges and engage sector resources to support positive outcomes for children and youth.

Qualifications

Post‑secondary degree, in Social Sciences, Social Work, or a diploma in Child and Youth Care. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Experience with daily operations and oversight of programs licensed by the child care facilities (other than foster homes) regulation.

Thorough knowledge of the Child Care Facilities (other than Foster homes) Regulation and related standards, policies and procedures applicable in group care facilities.

Strong verbal communication, including facilitation and presentation skills.

Strong written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point).

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships.

Excellent problem‑solving skills.
