Join the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs as a Kiipewii'Chego Advocate, supporting First Nations families in Winnipeg. This permanent full-time role emphasizes wraparound care for expectant mothers navigating health and welfare systems.
Your role will involve empowering families with culturally sensitive support while collaborating with professionals to enhance their parenting skills and address barriers to reunification. Work closely with community resources to strengthen family ties and promote wellness through cultural identity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate weekly case conferences and manage case files
• Complete intake procedures for clients promptly
• Collaborate with support services to promote family sovereignty
• Build relationships to assist birth plans and reunification
• Guide families in connecting with cultural resources
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field
• At least 3 years’ experience in child welfare systems
• First Nations Doula training preferred
• Strong background in First Nations cultural practices
• Current driver’s license and willingness to travel
