Family Counsellor

Position: Family Counsellor at Alpha House Project
Make a difference at Alpha House Project as a Children's & Family Counsellor. Focus on empowering mothers and children impacted by family violence through targeted counselling and support programs.

As a Children's & Family Counsellor, you will oversee children's and parenting programs under the supervision of the Director. This role requires assessing individual needs, facilitating group sessions, and providing family therapy to enhance client well-being. Your work will also involve liaising with community resources to ensure comprehensive support for families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake assessments for mothers and children

• Develop therapeutic plans tailored to individual needs

• Hold weekly sessions with children aged 5 and up

• Facilitate Parenting Groups and Family Sessions

• Maintain detailed records of assessments and interventions

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in social services or related fields

• At least three years of counselling experience

• Knowledge of gender-based violence and trauma recovery

• Experience in group facilitation with impacted families

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
