Support young adults in housing stability with The Link as an Indigenous Housing Mentor. Utilize strength-based, trauma-informed approaches to empower individuals aged 18-30.
This full-time, permanent role focuses on assisting participants from diverse backgrounds navigate their tenancy rights and responsibilities. You'll develop trustworthy relationships and support individuals’ goals to access basic needs and maintain tenancies. Collaborate closely with the Housing First team within a resilient framework.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build supportive relationships with participants
• Assist with understanding tenancy rights and responsibilities
• Advocate with landlords on participants' behalf
• Mediate issues between participants and landlords
• Document incidents and participant interactions professionally
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary education or life experience
• Understanding of Indigenous peoples' concerns
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Successful background checks within last 3 months
