The Lighthouse, a vital nonprofit organization, is seeking a Shelter Assistant for an 8-week program. The role involves building relationships with community members, ensuring policy compliance, and providing supportive services. Ideal candidates should have completed or be currently enrolled in a Social Service Worker program to help those facing housing instability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build supportive relationships with program participants
• De-escalate conflicts and facilitate resolutions
• Monitor behaviors to ensure safety
• Support during meal service and resource management
• Timely respond to participant communications
Requirements:
• Enrolled in or graduated from a Social Service Worker program
• Aged between 15 and 30 at employment start
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident
• Valid Social Insurance Number required
• Commitment to trauma-informed practices
