Youth Housing Mentor

Position: Youth Housing Mentor Needed
Become a Housing Mentor at Housing First, supporting young adults facing housing instability. Work collaboratively to provide personalized, trauma-informed support.

In this role, you will work closely with participants aged 18-30, fostering supportive relationships and guiding them in understanding their rights and responsibilities in housing. Your efforts will mesh with the Housing First team to advocate for participants, helping them maintain stable housing and achieve life goals. Expect to engage with landlords to facilitate a positive living environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain daily contact and support for participants

• Advocate for participant needs with landlords

• Complete accurate documentation in HIFIS system

• Facilitate access to mental health and substance use resources

• Support basic living activities and goal-setting

Requirements:

• Experience in social services or similar fields

• Understanding of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to adapt to participant needs

• Criminal record check clearance required

Provide essential support as a mentor and help foster resilience among youth.
