Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and ongoing support to the Walking Stick team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
  • Support the achievement of program goals by identifying emerging needs, implementing strategic initiatives, and contributing to program development and continuous improvement.
  • Provide consultation and support to Resource and Support Teams to ensure high-quality, participant‑centered services.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Manager to address staffing matters, support employee development, and coordinate the onboarding and integration of new team members.
  • Facilitate the timely and effective resolution of staff and participant concerns or conflicts.
  • Work collaboratively to assign new participants to the most appropriate Case Worker or Case Manager, considering individual needs, strengths, and team capacity.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, caregivers, and community partners to support meaningful outcomes and quality of life.
  • Serve as an advocate for participants and actively promote the mission, vision, and values of Oshki‑Giizhig in all aspects of service delivery and community engagement.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree in Social Work, Social Justice, Indigenous Studies, Health Sciences, Human Services, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in a senior leadership or management role.
  • Knowledge of The Vulnerable Persons Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Extensive clinical experience and a strong understanding of trauma‑informed and culturally responsive practices.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and approaches to care and support.
  • Knowledge of disabilities, developmental disorders, and mental health challenges.
  • Experience leading teams in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Additional Requirements
    • Criminal Record Check (With Vulnerable Sector Search), Adult Abuse Registry Check, Child Abuse Registry Check.
    • Applicants must have MPI 2 million‑liability insurance.

Salary

$84,000‑$98,000 annually
