The Salvation Army is seeking a Summer Student Intake Worker who will support survivors of gender-based violence. This part-time position prioritizes client-centered care, enabling you to perform intake interviews, provide crisis intervention, and coordinate support services. You will also work collaboratively with community partners to facilitate a safe, inclusive shelter space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete intake assessments and documentation for clients

• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning

• Offer practical support like transportation and food vouchers

• Maintain accurate case files and client activity logs

• Assist in shelter and community-based programs

Requirements:

• Enrolled in post-secondary studies in Social Work or related field

• Experience with survivors of GBV or marginalized groups

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles

• Strong crisis assessment and communication skills

• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
