Join Oranga Tamariki as a Youth Justice Social Worker, dedicated to transforming the lives of rangatahi in Recent Zealand. Collaborate with families and law enforcement to minimize offending.
Your role will focus on building relationships with youth and their families while addressing underlying issues leading to offending. With a commitment to bi-cultural practice, you will act as an advocate for each child's needs while working alongside multidisciplinary teams. Together, you will implement structured interventions and provide valuable insights to the court systems.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with rangatahi and their whānau effectively
- Provide written feedback and advocacy in court
- Collaborate with community and government services
- Address early offending factors through intervention
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams for holistic outcomes
- Full Registration with the New Zealand Social Worker Registration Board
- Strong commitment to youth welfare
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Oranga Tamariki Act and Youth Justice procedures
- Valid driver’s licence
