Social Worker Acute Care Program

Enhance patient care at the Acute Care Program as a part time Social Worker with Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority in Gimli. Focus on comprehensive psychosocial assessments and family support services.

This position requires an experienced Social Worker to join an interdisciplinary team committed to patient and family well‑being. You will offer psycho‑social support that addresses individual needs and facilitates health interventions. Outside of direct patient dealings, you’ll play an essential role in connecting families to community resources, promoting a thorough understanding of health care processes, all while adhering to the organization's mission.

• Perform psycho‑social assessments and develop care plans
• Offer crisis intervention and counseling support
• Coordinate with external agencies for comprehensive care
• Educate staff members on social service regulations
• Liaise between patients, families, and community resources

• Bachelor of Social Work Degree required
• Two years of experience working in Acute Care
• Current registration or eligibility with Manitoba College of Social Workers
• Proficiency in bilingual communication is essential for some roles
• Valid Class “5” Manitoba driver’s licence
