Join the Amoowigamig team as a full-time Support Mentor working Tuesday to Saturday, 7 am to 3 pm. Provide essential support and maintain safe access for individuals utilizing the community facility.
As a vital part of Amoowigamig, you will assist residents attending the washroom facility and facilitate resource referrals. This role emphasizes harm reduction, crisis management, and the promotion of community connections while adhering to Indigenous values and trauma-informed practices in your daily interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support residents accessing the washroom facility safely
• Distribute harm reduction supplies and referrals
• Engage in onsite crisis management and problem-solving
• Build trusting relationships within the unsheltered community
• Promote safety and community ownership among individuals
Requirements:
• Grade 12 and experience with unsheltered individuals
• Strong interpersonal skills and community resource knowledge
• Current First Aid/CPR and NVCI certification
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
• Recent clear criminal record and child abuse checks
