Join Oranga Tamariki as a Social Worker focused on Youth Justice, dedicated to empowering rangatahi in New Zealand.
Your role will involve collaboration with families and law enforcement to reduce offending.
This position aims to build lasting relationships with youth and their families while addressing factors leading to offending. Oranga Tamariki values a bi-cultural approach and seeks a social worker who advocates for each child’s needs.
You'll work with multidisciplinary teams to implement effective interventions and support court processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build partnerships with rangatahi and their families
• Provide court advocacy and written feedback
• Work collaboratively with community services
• Address early offending through intervention strategies
• Collaborate with teams for holistic support
Requirements:
• Full Registration with the New Zealand Social Worker Board
• Strong commitment to youth welfare initiatives
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of Youth Justice procedures
• Valid driver’s licence necessary
