Indigenous Support Advocate

Be part of Morningstar's initiative in Winnipeg as an Indigenous Support Advocate, providing essential services to families at R.B. Russell Vocational High School.

This position focuses on collaboration and resource provision, requiring strong leadership and case management skills.

Your role will involve advocating for students, managing case files, and facilitating transitions to higher education or employment opportunities by navigating social service systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct support to students and their families

• Advocate within social service frameworks

• Oversee and manage student case files

• Collaborate with educational and community partners

• Build partnerships with local service providers

Requirements:

• At least two years working with Indigenous children

• Strong knowledge of child welfare policies

• Proven problem-solving and crisis intervention skills

• Understanding of poverty and trauma impact

• Commitment to equity, diversity, and reconciliation
