Position: Youth Housing Mentor at The Link
Become a Youth Housing Mentor with The Link, guiding young adults in achieving housing stability. This role emphasizes person-centered, culturally aware support based on the Seven Teachings.

As part of the Housing First team, the Housing Mentor will help participants aged 18-30 navigate their challenges related to housing instability. You’ll work collaboratively to provide trauma-informed care and build empowering relationships that promote resilience. Effective advocacy and understanding of tenancy rights are critical in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist participants in defining and achieving their goals

• Ensure participants understand their living conditions

• Facilitate communication with landlords

• Help with daily living and application processes

• Maintain thorough documentation of all participant interactions

Requirements:

• Experience in relevant social services either through education or life experience

• Strong understanding of anti-oppressive practices

• Excellent communication and mediation skills

• Flexibility with scheduling based on program needs

• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required
