School Social Worker

Support high school students and families as a School Social Worker with Pembina Trails School Division in Winnipeg. This term position focuses on advocacy, crisis intervention, and mental health support.

The ideal candidate will be a social worker with at least a Bachelor's degree and must possess or be eligible for a School Clinician’s Certificate from Manitoba Education. You will work closely with justice-involved youth, facilitating communication during transitions and accessing community resources to support students and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide supportive counseling for children and adolescents

• Facilitate communication for justice-involved youth

• Advocate for students and families in need

• Conduct crisis interventions and threat assessments

• Offer staff and parent education on mental health

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work required

• Registered with Manitoba Institute of Registered Social Workers

• Experience with special needs and mental well-being

• Knowledge of local community resources essential

• Satisfactory criminal record and child abuse checks
