Weekend Heart Helper at Ma Mawi Wi Chi

Become a Weekend Heart Helper at the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre in Winnipeg. This part-time role supports pregnant adolescents in a residential care setting focused on building essential life skills.

With shifts from 7 pm to 7 am on Saturday and Sunday, the Heart Helper plays an important role in fostering independence and health among youth. Key duties include providing physical care, overseeing daily household management, and meal preparation. Encourage meaningful family involvement and skill development for participants to enhance their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate physical care and meal planning

• Document daily management activities

• Promote participant engagement with external stakeholders

• Support health and individual skill development

• Manage medication administration as needed

Requirements:

• Experience in residential care is a plus

• Strong planning and facilitation skills required

• Valid driver’s license and vehicle necessary

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

• Current background checks including Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry
