Drop-In Support Staff

Position: Drop-In Support Staff Needed
Siloam Mission seeks dedicated Drop-In Support Staff to offer crucial assistance to community members facing homelessness. Engage in a supportive role utilizing a trauma-informed and culturally safe approach.

This role focuses on building relationships with individuals accessing Drop-In services, providing food, clothing, and emotional support. Ideal candidates should possess 1-2 years of experience working with diverse groups and relevant post-secondary education. Your quick thinking and strong interpersonal skills will enable you to respond efficiently to needs and emergencies that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support community members with access to meals and clothing

• Utilize a Housing-Focused approach to guide interactions

• Effectively handle emergency situations as they occur

• Facilitate daily clean-ups within the Drop-In area

• Complete necessary incident reports and daily logs

Requirements:

• Relevant post-secondary education in social services

• Experience working with diverse populations preferred

• Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills

• Knowledge of community resources for homelessness

• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
