Position: Families First Home Visitor Role
Location: Steinbach

Become a Families First Home Visitor, working closely with families to foster positive relationships and promote healthy child development. This position focuses on strength-based practices and community connections while offering home support.

In this role under Southern Health-Santé Sud, you will collaborate with a Public Health Nurse to assist young families. Ideal candidates will possess skills in parenting guidance, problem-solving, and effective communication. You will employ a solution-focused approach and engage with families to enhance their parenting skills and promote safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular home visits to support families

• Implement evidence-informed activities for parent-child interactions

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for effective service delivery

• Utilize curriculum-based resources in family support

• Foster connections with community resources

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience with families of children 0-5

• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory

• Certification in a related field is an asset

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required

• Knowledge of early childhood development is essential
