Make a difference in Winnipeg with Main Street Project as a full-time Van Outreach Support Worker. This role provides critical support to community members experiencing homelessness and extreme conditions.
Main Street Project hires a full-time Van Outreach Support Worker for its essential outreach program. This position involves directly engaging with vulnerable populations and delivering food, shelter, and harm reduction supplies. You will drive outreach vans and respond to emergency situations while helping clients access vital services and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure clients receive food, shelter, and hygiene supplies
• Transport community members in MSP’s outreach vans
• Respond to emergency situations and document incidents
• Assist in planning and addressing immediate client needs
• Conduct wellness checks and visits to encampments
Requirements:
• Experience in human services, preferably with marginalized adults
• Knowledge of addiction, mental health, and Indigenous culture
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Ability to handle physical demands and exposure to biohazards
