Join Main Street Project as a Support Worker in its emergency shelter.
Your role will encompass direct community support, focusing on harm reduction and crisis intervention in challenging environments.
This part-time, permanent position supports individuals facing homelessness and addiction issues in a compassionate and respectful manner. As a member of the Emergency Shelter Services team, you will create individual care plans, provide essential resources, and help participants navigate their paths to permanent housing. Your dedication will ensure safety and support for those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide resources while respecting community member rights
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation
• Maintain accurate records of service and incidents
• Monitor and promote individual safety and health
• Collaborate with external agencies effectively
Requirements:
• Experience in social services or outreach roles
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and community issues
• Strong crisis management and conflict resolution skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to handle physical demands of the role
