Make a significant impact at Michif Child & Family Services as a Direct Service Worker. This casual role in Winnipeg involves providing critical support services and promoting family well-being for Metis and Inuit communities.
MCFS has three available positions for Direct Service Workers focusing on goal-oriented interventions. You'll assist children and families through in-home support while collaborating with social workers to meet their needs. Successful applicants will have a deep understanding of Metis culture and the necessary skills to manage various household responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing and implementing family interventions
• Carry out daily cooking and housekeeping tasks
• Document relevant reports, logs, and treatment plans
• Oversee family visits and provide necessary transportation
• Ensure appropriate use of media by youth
Requirements:
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification necessary
• A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license required
• Background understanding of Metis culture essential
• Strong interpersonal and documentational skills required
• Proven ability to handle sensitive situations safely
