New Directions is recruiting for a dedicated Direct Support Worker to join their Child Home Services team. This full-time role requires supporting youth dealing with trauma and disabilities by fostering skills in areas like cooking, money management, and behavioral support. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team, engaging children in social and recreational activities while ensuring a safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
• Provide daily life skills support and behavior management
• Facilitate recreational, educational, and social activities
• Administer medication following established protocols
• Accompany individuals to appointments and activities
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary preferred
• Minimum two years' experience with disabilities
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of Trauma Informed Care
