Position: Indigenous Cultural Support Worker Role
Become a vital part of the West Central Women’s Resource Centre team as an Indigenous Cultural Support Worker. Enhance community healing through cultural education and support services tailored for Indigenous families.

At the West Central Women’s Resource Centre in Winnipeg, this role supports women and gender-diverse individuals by promoting Indigenous culture and knowledge. The Cultural Support Worker will provide traditional teachings, coordinate ceremonies, and facilitate group programs while addressing social issues related to poverty and trauma. This position entails a commitment to empowering participants through cultural practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer cultural advising and crisis intervention for participants

• Coordinate access to traditional practices and medicines

• Lead workshops on Indigenous history and culture

• Plan and execute community programming activities

• Conduct program evaluations and assist with reporting

Requirements:

• Deep understanding of Indigenous healing practices

• Background in working with marginalized populations

• Skilled in conflict resolution and communication

• Familiar with anti-oppressive frameworks

• Experience in non-profit sector preferred
