Join Main Street Project as a Community Outreach Worker focusing on the Van Outreach program. Make a difference by providing essential resources and support to vulnerable individuals in Winnipeg.
This role is critical in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness through our 24/7 Van Outreach services. Candidates will work night shifts, ensuring community members have access to emergency shelter and essential supplies. Your work can significantly impact those at risk, particularly during severe weather, and promote dignity, respect, and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meet immediate needs for food, hygiene, and shelter supplies
• Drive and operate outreach vans to transport individuals
• Assess and document critical incidents during emergencies
• Conduct wellness checks and follow-up with encamped individuals
• Advise clients on available resources and services
Requirements:
• Background in human services or outreach
• Class 5 driver's licence and clear criminal record checks
• Commitment to harm reduction and equity principles
• Experience working with diverse communities
• CPR/First Aid certifications required
