Hours:

6.0 hours per day
Salary: $30.74 per hour

Start Date:

Sept 9, 2026 to June 29, 2027

• To support one or two students in classrooms and flexible programs at HSD Schools
• To implement and supervise the educational programming of student(s)
• To provide guidance, mentoring, and support in school
• To work cooperatively under the supervision of the program teaching staff
• To assist, if needed, driving students to and from school with personal vehicle

Qualifications:

• Child and Youth Care Diploma; an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
• Minimum two years’ experience working with adolescents who struggle with emotional,
• behavioural difficulties, or mental health challenges is preferred
• Relevant experience working with at-risk youth and youth in the care of child welfare agencies
• Strong understanding of programming in a school environment
• Competency in positive student behaviour management
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary collaborative team
• Working Effectively with Violent and Aggressive States (WEVAS) and/or Non-Violent Crisis
  Intervention (NVCI) training would be an asset
• Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships with children/youth
• Strong judgement and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive
• situations with tact and diplomacy
• Ability, emotional and physical stamina to work with students with complex, emotional, and
• Ability to maintain discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information
• Vehicle required with valid driver’s license and vehicle registration
