The Child Care Support Worker is responsible for providing care and overall support of the children and teens residing in Emergency Placement Resources shelter. They supervise the day-to-day functions of those in care to ensure that youth are maintaining a safe and healthy living environment.

Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include providing quality care, support, and a safe comfortable shelter environment to children with emotional and behavioral issues; supporting children’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self concepts. Helping children meet their personal care needs, including personal hygiene, sensitively and appropriately; and resolving conflicts and settles disputes between children. Administering prescribed medicine complying with all medicine policies including storage and record keeping;

organizing, scheduling and prioritizing daily routines and recreational activities. Advocating for and assists clients to access community resources; participating in the planning and adheres to children’s Individual Safety Plan. Following all of the branch’s financial (budget and petty cash) procedures.
