Make a difference as an Outreach Support Mentor with Simaril Inc., offering person-centered support on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in achieving their personal goals and enhancing daily living.
As an Outreach Support Mentor, you'll provide customized assistance tailored to individual preferences and needs. This part-time role requires collaboration with a dedicated team to ensure effective support plans. You will break down larger goals into manageable steps while empowering those you assist.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide personalized, respectful support daily
• Assist individuals in household activities and decisions
• Offer coaching, prompting, and encouragement
• Manage medication following established protocols
• Maintain clear documentation of communications and incidents
Requirements:
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada
• 2 years' experience with adults with intellectual disabilities
• Knowledge of disabilities and mental health issues
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills
• Valid Manitoba Driver's License and satisfactory abstract
