About the role
GE Vernova is seeking a senior AI/ML applications architect to design, develop, and deploy machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI solutions for grid automation and business use cases. The role reports to the Director of Data Analytics and AI Solutions in the Grid Automation CTO organization and is remote.
Responsibilities
Design scalable AI/ML solutions for cloud and edge environments, including GE Grid Node platforms.
Establish architecture standards and practices, and advise product and engineering teams on model selection, orchestration, and integration.
Build production-ready systems and reusable frameworks using cloud and edge patterns, microservices, APIs, containers, orchestration, CI/CD, and MLOps.
Define monitoring, observability, and guardrails for generative and agentic AI, including safety, security, bias, hallucination, cost, and performance controls.
Develop proofs of concept, evaluate tools and platforms, and guide solutions from concept through production deployment.
Collaborate with product, R&D, and cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML into existing platforms and develop new solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, data science, or a related technical field.
At least 7 years of hands‑on experience in software engineering, AI/ML development, and/or solution architecture.
Hands‑on experience building and architecting generative AI and agentic AI solutions on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
Desired experience includes machine learning frameworks, agent orchestration and retrieval‑augmented generation, AI/MLOps, edge computing, industrial IoT, Python, and energy‑system or grid technologies.
Compensation and other details
For candidates applying to a Canadian‑based position, the pay range is CAD $126,000–$189,000 annually. The role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. This posting is for a new vacancy. Relocation assistance is not provided.
