Job Profile
As the Equipment Operator 3 you will operate equipment necessary to the functioning of the 4R Winnipeg Depots. This includes operation of a roll-off truck to manage materials within and between the 4R Winnipeg Depots; operation of a skid-steer to support the functioning of the depot sites; operation of a recycling packer truck to support the functioning of the remote recycling depot sites, maintenance, garage coordination and assisting in training of new employees;
and other duties as assigned.
As the Equipment Operator 3, your duties will include:
- Operate a roll-off truck to manage materials within the 4R Winnipeg Depots including moving containers within site, hauling, unloading or dumping at several receiving sites.
- Operate a recycling packer truck to manage materials within the remote Community Recycling Depot locations.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections of condition of equipment and mechanical system including performing the manufacturers recommended maintenance schedule such as greasing and oiling moving parts.
- Provide general housekeeping / clean-up of the truck storage garage.
- Assist the facility Traffic Directors with clean-up of overflow material.
- Operate skid-steers to load containers from bunkers, load palletized material to trucks, and adjust position of roll-off containers.
- Maintain the site through plowing and loading of snow, sweeping of materials to maintain clean road surfaces.
- Provide maintenance and garage coordination.
- Perform routine maintenance (greasing, oiling, user serviceable fluids) for all pick-up trucks, 4R Winnipeg Depot equipment and attachments.
- Be responsible for the orderly keeping of the garage, parking areas and vehicle supplies.
- Maintain necessary records for loads hauled.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and materials around the landfill facility as directed.
- Ability to work extended hours, various shifts including statutory holidays, overtime, as required.
- Perform all duties of Traffic Director as required.
