The purpose of this program is to train Drivers with 2+ months tractor trailer driving experience to be a cross-border long haul driver. Training can include B.C. Mountains, Highway 17 in Ontario, U.S border crossings, and general highway driving.
This program requires a 2 year commitment to Cross-Border Driving with Bison. Required to be on the road 5 to 10 days at a timeRequired to be available for dispatch 24 days a month including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidaysRequired to drive Highway 17 in Ontario, 12 months a yearRequired to sign a 2-year contractApplicants must meet all the following hiring criteria:
Must hold a MELT certified Class 1/AZ licenseMust have a minimum of 2 months tractor trailer driving experienceMust live within a one-hour commute of our Winnipeg TerminalMust be eligible to enter the United States and have the necessary border-crossing documentsMust be legally eligible to work in CanadaMust have held a valid Canadian Class 5/G License for a minimum of 1 yearHave had no preventable accidents within the past yearHave had no more than two moving violations within the previous two years; this includes speeding, improper moves, seatbelt fines, etc.Only candidates who meet all the criteria listed above will be contacted by a Recruiter.
