The Logistics Specialist develops and maintains strong customer service skills and supports OPENLANE Logistics transportation service. Daily duties require providing accurate, friendly, and quality service to customers when interacting via phone, text, and email. Additionally, the role involves effectively utilizing tools and procedures to ensure workload is completed daily, and reporting on transportation department activities to local management and the corporate office.

- Organized. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can stay organized when handling multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented. You will ensure a high degree of accuracy in your tasks, in accordance with our customer and company requirements.
- Team-oriented. You will support the Transport Supervisor/Manager with day-to-day activities and be willing to jump in where needed to assist.
- Act as a point of contact for transportation and ensure customers receive prompt, efficient, and courteous attention.
- Assist customers with confirming their transportation needs.
- Verify vehicle locations and delivery addresses prior to pickup.
- Run aging reports and contact sellers and buyers regarding outstanding shipments.
- Maintain excellent customer service, strong telephone support, and the ability to answer or research answers to customer questions.
- Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient, and courteous attention for all contacts and transactions.
- Be familiar with procedures for handling all aspects of customer service.
- Resolve customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner, and advise the manager or designated supervisor of all serious complaints or incidents.
- Assist customers in understanding OPENLANE systems, where applicable, and elevate any system issues appropriately.
- Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
- Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins, schedules, and accounting from the manager or designated supervisor or other corporate sources; maintain a good flow of communication with the manager, supervisor, and other personnel.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 Years’ related experience in a logistics or dispatching role
- Tech-savvy and comfortable using Google Suite
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain calm and diplomacy in dispute resolution situations
- Autonomous, self-driven, proactive, and a team player
- Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
- Self-starter who can assess work volumes and ensure timely completion of prioritized tasks
- Experience with AMS, VTrace, and other OPENLANE systems
