Reporting to the Director of Driver Services and Safety, the Driver Services Supervisor role is to plan, organize, coordinate, and implement the operational goals and activities of our divisions. The Driver Services Supervisor is responsible for safely managing all aspects, activities and resources (people and equipment) towards meeting customer commitments and financial goals (budgetary/profit and loss) while working within regulatory and legal compliance.

This individual also works with the various staff to ensure the corporate compliance between Driver Services area and Safety, Accounting, Human Resources, Recruiting, Training, Maintenance, and other corporate programs is met. As a pivotal role within our transportation company, the position is entrusted with overseeing a spectrum of responsibilities crucial to ensuring operational efficiency, driver satisfaction, and compliance with safety regulations.

This multifaceted role involves:

• Supervise drivers to ensure effective and timely performances.
• Monitor driver performance, including adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
• Address any issues or concerns raised by drivers and provide necessary support.
• Assist Driver Services Manager with daily operations including driver onboarding, schedule coordination, and issue resolution.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to drivers.
• Work with planning to arrange extra on the road training to new hires.
• Assign trucks to new hires.
• Follow up daily to ensure trucks are ready or if any changes are necessary.
• Collaborate with Maintenance staff to ensure proper maintenance and repair of vehicle.
• Collaborate with Recruitment providing department staffing needs.
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices for driver management.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics or transportation management.
• Proven experience in a similar role in the transportation or logistics industry.
• Familiarity with freight operations and heavy equipment operation.
• 1-2 years' Class 1 experience.
• Valid commercial driver's license an asset.
• Knowledge of Trucking based software.
• Practice in progressive discipline policy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with drivers, dispatchers, and other team members.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Negotiation, communication, interpersonal, investigation, mediation, facilitation, and analytical skills.
