Long haul truck driver

Responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.

• Education:
  
  Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Driver's License (Class 1 or
  
  A).
• Valid passport, criminal record check, driving record check (abstract), and drug test.
• Knowledge of driver logbook, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports.

• Willingness to travel cross-border, internationally, overnight, and for extended periods.
• Physical demands:
  Repetitive tasks, prolonged sitting.
