SUMMARY
The primary function of the Operations Coordinator, Ocean Freight (Ocean Import and Export) is to process all shipments, coordinating the movement and monitoring while in route. The position requires handling of shipments from start to finish ensuring compliance with DSV policies as well as government regulations. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and will provide the highest level of customer service and quality by efficiently processing all inbound and outbound requirements before or within agreed time frames.
Direct communication with customers, overseas offices, carriers, warehouses and truckers are required.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily management and coordination of shipmentsEstablish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipmentsCreate, coordinate country specific documentsAdhere to all domestic and international shipping regulationsTrack and trace all shipmentsPrepare and publish reports, as requestedProactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solutionsConfirm rates with carriersResponsible for cost containment of shipments, via accounting systemEvaluate shipments, consolidate loads, select most cost-effective method of pick up and/or deliveryEnsure all DSV KPIs met throughout the movement of the shipmentLane analysis required on orders to select the most appropriate mode of transport within customer requirementsDaily Communication with customers on relevant issues and resolutionManage new account implementation from standard operating procedure to executionQuality, Health & Safety:
Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment and follow all requirements as set out in the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy.Staff are required to ensure that their day-to-day activities embrace sustainability, Health and safety therefore reducing the impact upon the environment, supporting the communities we work in and reducing incidents in the workplace.QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
A minimum of one to two years international transportation industry experience or,Education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study.CIFFA certificate, an assetDangerous Goods Certification, an assetAuthorized Cargo Representative (ACR) designated status, as requiredGDP Training, if requiredSkills and Competencies
