Driver Trainer
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Schedule: Part‑Time
Position Summary
First Student is seeking an experienced and safety‑focused Part‑Time Driver Trainer to support our Winnipeg, MB location.
In this role, you will provide classroom and behind‑the‑wheel training to new and existing school bus drivers, ensuring compliance with regulations, First Student safety standards, and local school board requirements.
This position is well suited for an experienced school bus driver who enjoys mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and making a positive impact in the community through part‑time work.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver classroom and behind‑the‑wheel training for new school bus driversProvide refresher or remedial training to existing drivers as requiredCoach and mentor drivers with a focus on safe driving practices and regulatory complianceEvaluate driver performance to ensure required skill levels and certifications are metMaintain accurate training records and documentation in accordance with MTO, company, and contract requirementsSupport overall safety initiatives at the locationIdentify performance gaps and collaborate with local leadership to develop training plansParticipate in meetings and training sessions as requiredPerform other duties related to safety and training as assignedQualifications & Experience
Valid drivers LicenseMinimum two (2) years of school bus or commercial driving experienceClean driver abstract dated within the past 30 daysStrong communication, mentoring, and coaching skillsAbility to work independently with limited supervisionWhy Join First Student?
