What You’ll Get to Do

Reporting to the Cargo Manager or Base Manager, Cargo Clerks are responsible for providing excellent customer service to Calm Air Cargo customers including providing information to customers regarding shipments, shipping and receiving of freight, cargo administration and maintenance of the inbound cargo area.

  • Answer the telephone and receive Customers at the Cargo Office
  • Provide customers with information on rates, routing, aircraft limits and acceptance requirements
  • Prepare all Dangerous Goods cargo as freight is received
  • Receive, tag and complete all paperwork for freight and ensure it is stored according to the type of product
  • Complete morning audit/AD’s and forward to the Cargo Manager
  • Complete month/year‑end reports
  • Maintain the inbound area in warehouse to ensure the freight is being delivered or picked up
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of company, customer, and personnel information
  • Other duties as assigned
Hours of Work
  • Shift work is required: applicants must be available to work mornings, afternoons/evenings and weekends on a rotational basis – based on operational requirements
Skills & Experience We Value
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Post‑secondary education in related field considered an asset
  • Ability to read and write, basic math skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and written
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Proficiency with computers (Office 365)
  • Excellent listening skills with ability to follow direction
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license Class 5F
  • Previous experience & knowledge in warehousing, receiving and inventory control considered an asset
  • Must have own transportation to and from work
  • Successful Criminal Reference Check
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance and AVOP pass as per Transport Canada regulations
  • Inuktitut and/or Inuinnaqtun language considered an asset
  • Preference given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
