Role:
Reporting to Dunn‑rite’s Shipping Manager and working closely with Production, the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor is responsible for an effective and efficient shipping/receiving and Order Picking department. The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures.
Responsibilities- Manage shipping and receiving activities (including raw materials, customer orders, all pallet usage, and product returns and all ingredients and packaging supplies) to ensure the most accurate, timely, efficient, and economical utilization of storage facilities.
- Ensure all paper is correctly documented and provided to the appropriate personnel.
- Manage the order picking activities, ensure orders are filled to customer specs, the orders are accurate, filled as per cut off times, shorts verified with management.
- Direct and maintain first in, first out rotation of product in fresh/frozen storage and ensure the freezer and storage areas meet company housekeeping standards.
- Reconcile, supervise, and participate in inventory counts of the cooler, freezer, and dry storage.
- Supervise Shipping, Inventory and Order Picking Staff (includes authorizing overtime and other requests).
- Provide leadership, communication, and motivation for staff.
- Administer company policies on discipline and address complaints in a timely and respectful manner.
- Liaise with Shipping Manager, Maintenance Manager, QA Manager, Production Managers and Supervisors, and maintain effective relationships with other departments, providing input on matters related to shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory accuracy and control and storage.
- Able and willing to occasionally adjust shift to provide supervision on day shift, night shift and weekends when needed.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of records for tracking warehousing and shipping activities for analysis and improvement.
- Monitor aged inventory and work with Materials Manager to locate/stage and flag ageing inventory.
- Manage CHEP incoming and outbound.
- Continuous improvement.
- Back up for shipping Manager.
- Train the Trainer for all in‑house Power equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Previous supervisory experience in food manufacturing would be an asset.
- Strong emphasis on computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel).
- Strong mathematical and organization skills.
- Ability to use and learn Warehouse Management System.
- Possess strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflicts.
- Self‑motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Continuous learner and willingness to embrace change.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate attention to details.
- Ability to assess, work under pressure and prioritize.
- Certified on all Power equipment with the ability to coach others on their use.
- Willingness to work in a cold warehouse environment.

Please note that the expected new hire salary range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sunrise Farms. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
