Clinical Trainee – Day Treatment TeamWinona, MN
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Clinical Trainee provides mental health assessments and psychotherapy services to help clients overcome social, emotional and mental health challenges to enjoy a greater sense of well‑being.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provide psychotherapy services within scope of expertise to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Services include individual therapy, couples/family therapy, group therapy, in‑home therapy, diagnostic assessments, and other direct services. Maintain full caseload equal to at least 70% of time allocated for psychotherapy and/or other billable direct services.
- Maintain client files, ensuring complete and timely documentation in accordance with agency policies and governing standards. Complete all required EHR forms and billing entries within required time frames.
- Participate in scheduled supervision, staff meetings and other agency meetings; seek consultation with supervisor or other clinicians as needed. Maintain certification/license in good standing and current staff development hours.
- Perform community presentations and outreach services as required. Maintain positive relationships with referral sources and assure clients that they receive high‑quality, evidence‑based services. Promote a positive public image of the organization to build and maintain caseload requirements.
- Education:
Master’s or Doctorate in LPCC, MFT, LICSW, LPP, PNP or Psychiatrist on a licensure track to become a mental health professional in Minnesota. - Clinical Trainee: (1) Enrolled in an accredited graduate program preparing for independent licensure with a practicum/internship under a license holder, or (2) completed such a program and in compliance with licensing board requirements.
- Scope of Practice:
May provide psychotherapy, client education, rehabilitative mental health services, diagnostic and functional assessments, level of care assessments, and treatment plans under treatment supervision. May provide psychological testing if supervised by a psychologist. Must not provide treatment supervision to other staff or violate any practice act. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to market services and demonstrate the agency’s mission, vision, and values.
- Computer proficiency with desktop applications, Gmail, and Microsoft products.
Normal office environment with minimal lifting, bending, and standing. Some home‑based services and travel may be required.
