We are seeking a Quality Technician to ensure our products meet both customer specifications and company quality standards. This role involves managing incoming parts inspections, overseeing third-party vendors performing work on behalf of Thern, and conducting assembly product audits to verify compliance with all customer and company requirements. The ideal candidate will support the non-conforming disposition resolution team, oversee gauge calibration and first article inspections, and monitor quality processes to ensure efficient sorting, rework, rejected material disposition, and material returns.
They will also be responsible for reporting all non-conformances found in receiving and operations, collaborating with the quality and production teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Interpret drawings, schedules, inspection plans, and control charts while verifying documentation.
- Select products for tests at specified stages in production process, and test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, or electrical characteristics.
- Audit operations to ensure employees comply with quality standards.
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- Guide employees on proper adjustment and usage of precision instruments.
- Support lean transformation by actively engaging in Kaizen teams and executing post-Kaizen activities.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve product issues and facilitate the return process as needed.
- Create or update work instructions as necessary.
- Previous experience in a Quality Inspector or Tech role is preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Able to read and follow work instructions, quality, and safety protocols.
- Dependable and independent but also able to work well within a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for 8 hours per day.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
