Production Support Specialist 1 - 1st shift

Location:

Winona, MN (if listed) – Referrals may increase interview chances. The compensation rate is $16.50/hour base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation.

Responsible for managing work in process (WIP) production strategies for internal work centers and resources. Coordinate gathering all bill of materials (BOM) items specific to each Manufacturing Order and assemble them into kits for downstream operations. Closely monitor physical WIP areas and BOM inventory items to ensure accuracy and organization. Put plans in place to continuously improve workflow and throughput. Communicate plans effectively and utilize available resources and services intercompany.

• Reads and follows specific instructions, written in English.
• Reports production bottlenecks to leadership and/or solves them with creative thinking.
• Utilizes system tools to analyze workflow and report on issues and successes.
• Creates and maintains process/procedure for WIP management, and collaborates with production supervision and leads to create a controlled environment.
• Locates and gathers Bill of Material (BOM) items and collects them into a kit. Locates kit in designated location and communicates with production personnel and leadership regarding strategy for managing WIP.
• Creates labels, coordinates subassembly items.
• Creates and maintains item locations for raw materials, WIP, and consumable supplies on the manufacturing floor.
• Requests materials and replenish floor stock.
• Utilizes Win Craft’s software programs for data collection and accuracy as well as system moves and outsourcing.
• Completes activity-based cycle counting as needed.
• Performs general housekeeping and department six sigma activities.
• Adheres to all Department and Company Standards, Operating Procedures and Safety Requirements.
• Treats others with respect and conducts themselves in a positive and inclusive manner daily.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 year on the job training or previous employment experience in production support role.

• Close attention to detail
• Understand written English instruction
• Complete basic technology applications / basic computer aptitude including proficiency in data entry.
• Good hand dexterity
• Detailed knowledge of company products, manufacturing and art processes, and company office procedures.
• Ability to count accurately and perform simple math functions
• Ability to inspect materials and finished products for defects
• Well-organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to continue education in production and inventory control areas.
• Ability to deal effectively and courteously with leadership, internal customers and co-workers.

• Aptitude to follow prescribed procedures and ability to make independent decisions.
• Must have the ability to interpret and respond to all forms of correspondence as it relates to or affects orders.

• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Ability to participate in a team lift of 50 lbs.
