Stratton Aviation is looking for a talented FP&A Lead who enjoys getting beyond the numbers to help a business understand where it is headed and make better decisions.
This is a newly created, high-impact individual contributor role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. You’ll take ownership of the annual operating plan and monthly forecasting process while playing an important role in cash-flow forecasting, financial modeling, asset acquisition analysis, and strategic decision support.
If you're an analytical finance professional who loves building models, turning complex financial information into actionable insights, and working closely with business leaders, this is an opportunity to make an impact.
What You’ll DoOwn the planning and forecasting process- Lead the annual operating plan (AOP), bringing together revenue, margin, and expense assumptions to develop the Adjusted EBITDA plan.
- Own monthly forecast updates, planning models, and the forecast calendar.
- Analyze actual results against the AOP and forecast, clearly identifying and explaining key variances.
- Develop forecasting and variance-analysis content to support board and lender reporting.
- Support a rolling 12-month cash-flow and working-capital forecast.
- Develop forward-looking projections of borrowing-base and revolver availability to help anticipate financing needs.
- Support the 13-week cash-flow forecast and keep longer-term projections aligned with near-term expectations.
- Incorporate AR, AP, and working-capital results into forward-looking financial models.
This is an especially interesting aspect of the role. You'll help model prospective aircraft, engine, and inventory-package acquisitions, assessing expected part-out value, cost-recovery timing, returns, cash requirements, and financing impact.
You'll also track acquired lots against their original investment models, helping the CFO use actual performance to inform future bids and capital decisions.
Support lot valuation and strategic analysis- Help develop and maintain lot costing and revaluation models.
- Analyze burn-down adequacy, remaining book value, expected sales, and potential impairment exposure.
- Reconcile models to system results and support audit-related revaluation work.
- Partner directly with the CFO on financing, capital allocation, and other strategic financial analyses.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics.
- 3–6 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, transaction services, or public accounting, including hands-on budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Advanced Excel modeling skills, including integrated three-statement and cash-flow models that can be maintained and used by others.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, particularly inventory costing and impairment.
- Ability to translate financial results and complex analysis into clear insights for non-finance leaders.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and operate effectively with direct access to the CFO.
- Fluency with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar tools to build and audit models, automate recurring analysis, and draft financial commentary, while independently validating outputs before relying on them.
- Experience in a private-equity-backed company.
- Exposure to asset-based lending, borrowing-base calculations, or covenant forecasting.
- Experience in aviation aftermarket, used serviceable material (USM), leasing, or another inventory-intensive distribution environment.
