The Associate Director, Digital Strategy & Solutions is a senior, business-focused technology leader responsible for translating Texas Oncology strategic, clinical, and operational priorities into an integrated portfolio of digital solutions. The Associate Director owns portfolio strategy, prioritization, governance, solution assessment, and executive visibility, while leading the Finance and Legal technology capabilities and their roadmaps. This role works across clinical, operational, technology, enterprise, vendor, and control-function stakeholders to advance scalable, secure, and user-centered solutions.
The Associate Director may initially operate as an individual contributor, leading through influence and matrixed teams, and may assume people leadership as the portfolio and function mature.
- Own and evolve the Digital Strategy & Solutions portfolio and roadmap in alignment with Texas Oncology priorities.
- Translate clinical, operational, and enterprise priorities into sequenced digital capabilities and investment opportunities.
- Maintain integrated visibility across demand, assessments, pilots, implementations, dependencies, risks, decisions, adoption, and value.
- Develop recommendations for prioritization, investment, scaling, optimization, or retirement of solutions.
- Identify opportunities to leverage existing enterprise capabilities and reduce duplication or fragmentation.
- Own the technology capability roadmaps for Finance and Legal, including strategy, demand shaping, stakeholder alignment, and investment planning.
- Partner with Finance and Legal leaders to identify business needs, workflow opportunities, risks, and measurable outcomes.
- Coordinate across enterprise technology teams, vendors, architecture, security, data, procurement, and delivery partners to advance approved priorities.
- Maintain transparency into capability health, planned improvements, dependencies, and value realization.
- Lead structured problem definition and assessment of proposed digital solutions and emerging technologies.
- Direct market scans, vendor research, product comparisons, feasibility analysis, and build-versus-buy considerations.
- Translate business and clinical needs into capabilities, requirements, workflows, evaluation criteria, and success measures.
- Develop or oversee business cases addressing strategic alignment, operational impact, financial implications, risk, scalability, and expected value.
- Present evidence-based investment recommendations to executive and governance forums.
- Own the Digital Strategy & Solutions governance operating model and align it with applicable enterprise processes.
- Establish and maintain stage gates, decision rights, role clarity, templates, checklists, escalation paths, and documentation standards.
