The successful candidate will be required to submit a curriculum vitae, official transcripts of earned degrees, and/or substantiating documentation of experiential qualifications as a condition of employment.

The University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), America’s first and oldest public arts conservatory, is part of the seventeen-campus University of North Carolina System and is located in Winston-Salem—a growing, dynamic, multicultural community of about 250,000 people. The four-year undergraduate program at the UNCSA culminates in the BFA or BM degree in one of five arts schools:
Dance, Design & Production, Drama, Filmmaking, and Music.
The Division of Liberal Arts (DLA) provides required and elective liberal arts courses in partial fulfillment of these undergraduate degrees. DLA courses encompass a broad range of disciplines, including history, the humanities, foreign language and culture, literature, philosophy, social anthropology, psychology, and the natural sciences. Position Summary
The Division of Liberal Arts at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) invites applications for a full-time undergraduate faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in History/Philosophy, or a closely related field, beginning August 1, 2026. We seek a colleague with a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education, whose research and teaching will enrich our four-course interdisciplinary core curriculum and other course offerings.
