WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY

The Department of Anthropology invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track position in anthropological archaeology at the Visiting Assistant Professor level effective July 1, 2026. The position is contingent on university funding.

Qualifications

An earned Ph.D. in anthropology is required for the position; ABD candidates are invited to apply. Qualified applicants will demonstrate their ability to teach undergraduate courses in archaeology and contribute to an academic environment that fosters learning and growth for all its stakeholders.

Position Summary

This individual will be expected to teach undergraduate courses including Introduction to Archaeology and may be assigned a course in North American archaeology or their area of expertise. Teaching load will be 3/3. Evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to the training and professional development of undergraduates are required.
