Wake Forest University's Summer Immersion Program is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced leader to join our team as a Seasonal Summer Residence Life Coordinator (RLC).
Job Description SummaryThis vital role is central to ensuring the success, safety, and well‑being of high school students residing on campus during the summer program. The RLC plays a leadership role in fostering a positive, safe, and harmonious residential campus culture.
Responsibilities- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive campus culture for high school students residing in university residence halls.
- Oversee check‑in and check‑out procedures, including room assignments and inventory checks.
- Conduct regular dormitory inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with campus security to maintain a safe and secure residential environment.
- Respond to and address emergency situations and student health concerns.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee engaging evening activities, workshops, and events with a team of Student Engagement Interns.
- Supervise up to seven Student Engagement Interns, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training.
- Maintain accurate records, including incident reports, maintenance requests, and program evaluations.
- Assist with other duties as needed to support the overall success of the Summer Immersion Program.
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field, or background in teaching middle or high school students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage a large group of high school students in a residence hall setting and exercise needed authority.
- Enthusiastic, creative, and solution‑oriented mindset.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive community.
- Protection of minors training, clear background check and drug screening required for hiring.
- Knowledge of campus security policies and residential life practices.
- May 2026 Thursdays 2:00‑5:00 pm (flexible).
- Mandatory RLC Move‑In and Residence Hall Prep:
May 29 2026, 8:00 am‑5:00 pm. - Mandatory Staff Training – June 1‑5 2026, 9:00 am‑5:00 pm.
- June/July 2026 – Sundays 2:00‑6:00 pm, 8:00‑11:00 pm;
Monday‑Thursday 4:00‑11:00 pm;
Friday 9:00 am‑2:00 pm. - Residence Life Coordinators may request housing for the week of June 28‑July 3; housing costs are not covered.
