New Product Development Engineer II
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Salary Range: $100,000 – $110,000
Summary Of Job:The New Product Development Engineer II will play a crucial role in supporting business growth by developing and commercializing new flexible packaging structures. They will also focus on enhancing the performance and cost efficiency of existing structures to align with the company’s financial goals and strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and executing new product development processes
- Supervising trial runs and scale-up activities
- Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Maintaining industry contacts and staying updated on packaging materials and processes
- Leading the discovery and development of new products in collaboration with various departments
- Coordinating lab tests and overseeing test materials production
- Identifying opportunities for standardization and simplification
- Collaborating with R&D on next-generation products and processes
- Providing technical assistance to customers and internal stakeholders
- Preparing cost estimates and specifications for packaging structures
- Continuously enhancing market knowledge and skills through training
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work extended hours
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Effective communication skills in various forms
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in flexible packaging development
- Proficiency in packaging substrates, materials, and testing methods
- Demonstrated track record in new product development and optimization
- Strong project management and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and solve problems efficiently
- Good computer literacy with knowledge of standard applications
